ipods in the classroom

I have done some thinking and I have revised my question.

My action research question is the following; "How can the use

of ipods in the classroom be used to create an authentic voice?"

and " How can an authentic voice create or contribute a class

community?

What do you think about this question?
How can I alter or make my question simple?

Jagdeep, how will you be defining what an authentic voice is? This should be very interesting. Will you be using your voice as well?

Jagdeep - this sounds interesting. Do you mean "real" to be the voice of the reader or the voice "suggested" by the author?

I love the idea of creating or growing community in the classroom. I wonder if creating voice will impact the community on its own or whether that voice has to be authentic. I have a feeling that, to start with anyway, students will feel a strong attachment to the voice (quality probably won't matter at first). I think that the "process" of growth from simple to authentic will enhance the learning about self and others.

BTW - I found out that the iTalk (if you can get them) will work on the new iPod NANO video player.

Authentic would be a real voice. It would be the voice of the children and the children will be the authors.
The authentic voice would be the readers voice. They will create the stories. I want to see if they use of ipods encourages, excites or changes their behaviour when we write. The goal is for the children to write a story and then record their voices onto an ipod. My class will show the 3/4's their samples and teach the 3/4 about ipods. The 3/4's will record their stories and share with the 1/2's. I am wondering if this will bring the two classes together and build a community within the two classes. I would have to create surveys that could look and assess their emotions. Do this make sense? or Am I in left field/
